I’ve worn glasses most of my life, and without them, all I see is a big, blurred world around me, and people’s facial features run together.  I can still distinguish fine between objects, but they look like they’ve got a wall of fuzz around them.  This is what near sighted people sees without glasses.

You eyes are under constant strain in the modern life-style.  You probably sit in front of the computer for hours each day.  Smoke, pollution, not enough sleep, allergies are some other causes for irritable eyes.

Macular degeneration is one of the more wide spread eye diseases in America, especially for older individuals.  This disease in North America affects over 13 million people.  Unfortunately, there is no cure or perfect treatment for this disease.  However, studies have show with the right diet, the risk for Macular Degeneration disease can be reduced.

There are many types of food that are good for your eyes and vision.  Including these foods in your diet will not only help reduce your risk for macular degeneration, but as well, help improve your eyes’ health overall.

Spinach!  Improve Eye Health & Eye Vision

Spinach if probably one of the better vegetables you can eat for your eye health and eye vision.  Spinach is loaded with Lutein, a carotene that we already know that’s important to fight of eye diseases.  But exactly how does Lutein work?  This is pretty boring stuff, so let’s be brief: Lutein in your eyes absorbs blue light, which is the most dangerous type of light for your eyes.  Lutein and Zeaxanthin protects the eye from damage by UV light.

Spinach is not only high in Lutein, but it also has abundant vitamin A and C, fiber, and potassium.  Studies have shown that a diet with regular spinach dishes improves your overall health, and especially health for your eyes.

Don’t forget about carrots and all the other wonderful fruits and vegetables that also do wonders for you eyes and health!
